Carlton Beach Dunes House
In a prime location on the dunes overlooking Carlton Beach the original house had been unoccupied and largely neglected for ten years. The unforgiving environment had taken its toll, and the deterioration was judged beyond repair.
A new home, designed to be low in maintenance and taking advantage of the breathtaking views across Fredrick Henry Bay was constructed on the same footprint by 2B Building.
Extensive glazing and thoughtful positioning provide all day sun filled spaces capturing outlooks over the beach, bay and Carlton to the north. Robust polished concrete floors create atmosphere and are ideal for coping with frequent traffic to and from the beach.
The deck on the north side enables the kitchen and living area to flow outside protected from afternoon sea breezes. The louvred roof provides additional shade and shelter when required.

Out with the old
After a decade of neglect in a harsh coastal environment, the original house on this prime Carlton Beach property was
beyond repair. A full demolition was the necessary first step to prepare the site for a new build.
