Recognised for excellence: finalists in multiple 2025 HIA awards
We are incredibly proud to announce that 2B Building has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 HIA Tasmanian Housing - Custom Built Home and Apprentice of the Year categories!
As a family-owned Tasmanian building company, we take immense pride in our work and the impact it has on our clients and the community. Our commitment to quality craftsmanship and client success is reflected in every aspect of our business, and we are proud to have been recognised for our efforts.
The nominated project
This nomination recognises our work on the Tiger Head House, a project that transformed an aging, much-loved fibro shack into a contemporary and functional home. The architectural design by Field Labs focused on preserving the original character of the clifftop site while creating a modern residence that takes full advantage of the sweeping views over Frederick Henry Bay, from Spectacle Island to Mount Wellington.
The execution of this vision required meticulous attention to detail, from the floor-to-ceiling glass and stacking doors that create seamless indoor-outdoor flow to the stunning stone-top island bench that forms the heart of the home. With features like a Jetmaster fireplace, extensive custom joinery, and Tas Oak floorboards throughout, this project showcases our ability to deliver a high-quality finish that is both beautiful and built to last.

Our apprentice of the year finalist

We are also thrilled that our dedicated apprentice, Kalan, has been nominated for the Apprentice of the Year award.
This nomination recognises his exceptional skills and dedication to his craft, as well as his commitment to delivering high-quality work. Well done Kalan!
Meet our four-legged finalist: Maggie!
Every great team needs a morale officer, and at 2B Building, that role is expertly filled by Maggie. While she may not carry a hammer, she takes her responsibilities as Head of Welcomes and Chief of Naps-in-Sunbeams very seriously.
That's why we are incredibly proud to announce that Maggie's hard work has been officially recognised! She has been named a finalist for the prestigious "Site Dog of the Year" award. This nomination highlights what we've always known: that a positive and happy worksite leads to the best results. Maggie is an essential part of our team culture, and we have our fingers (and paws) crossed for her. Good luck, Maggie!
