Dodges Ferry Home
This split-level home was built on a steep block in Dodges Ferry to maximise views over Frederick Henry Bay. The architect who designed the house made expansive use of glass on the front walls enabling the stunning outlook to be enjoyed throughout the home and outdoor living spaces.
This innovative use of glass facilitates the blending of indoor and outdoor areas. In both levels there is a feeling of spaciousness not usually found in a house with a floor area of only 111 square metres. The large open plan kitchen and dining living spaces open to both the east and west decks. The owners are able to adapt living and entertaining to suit the weather conditions.
The external character and appeal of the house is derived from a mix of fibre cement sheet painted black and Yellow Gum to complement the earthy tones of the surrounding environment.
