2B Building is a family-owned Tasmanian building company known for its award-nominated quality and personal service. We specialise in custom new homes, extensions, and renovations across Hobart and South East Tasmania, particularly on the Eastern Shore and Southern Beaches.
Led by accredited builder Jesse Bateman (25 years experience), we take a hands-on approach. We only take on a select number of projects at a time to ensure Jesse personally oversees every build, guaranteeing the highest standard of craftsmanship.

Thanks to all of our crew and suppliers for helping bring this project to the beautiful home it is today! We are thrilled with the outcome and so are the owners! Calling past the other week to see the landscaping flourishing really ties it all in. Fingers crossed for a win at the HIA awards in October. 🤞🏼

Over the last year or so we have been building a second house on our property (lucky kids of ours) it’s been a great fun project for both Cat and I. I’m really happy with how it’s shaping up. I think the Shou Sugi Ban cladding has a beautiful effect on the building. I’m really happy with the burnished floors as well. Curved walls in the shower is a first for me but I think it is worth the extra load of hours to construct 😳. Looking forward to the joinery installation, It should be quite special 👌

We had the pleasure of handing over the keys to the happy new owners at Tiger Head last week! What a beautiful place to spend the good part of a year building this home. Thanks mostly to Luke and Kalan for all your hard work every day and to all of our trades and suppliers for helping bring it all together! We are really happy with the end result!! 😊

A great few days away at sea with the boys to sign off on another big year! I think it says something about our small team that we spend nearly every day together for the year and can then jump on a boat together for three days and have nothing but laughs and good times. A massive thanks to Luke and Kalan for all of your hard work throughout the year! Also a huge thanks to all of our trades as well! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! A little snippet of how the last couple of weeks have been.. we have watched a lot of cold fronts march across that bay lately, luckily they have been hitting hard and fast and then backing off after 20 mins allowing us to climb back up on that roof.. 🔨 (Volume up)

Cheers to the boys Kalan and Wizza for dealing with the wind and rain squalls the last couple of days to get the last of the trusses up. We have copped a flogging on the headland from these winds but managed to keep it all moving. (Still a few more days of wind ahead) I’m really happy with how this house is shaping up! 🙌
